Kidde Fire Systems

Need more information?

Since 1917, Kidde Fire Systems has been a global leader in fire protection, protecting people, property, and processes from fire hazards. Kidde’s fire protection solutions include conventional and intelligent detection and control systems which complement a complete line of fire suppression systems, including:

3M™ Novec™ 1230 Fire Suppression Systems

3M™ Novec™ 1230 Fire Protection Fluid is a clean agent fire extinguishant which was developed as a halon replacement and hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) alternative. It belongs to a family of chemicals called halocarbons, a group which includes HFCs and fluoroketones. Novec 1230 fluid is a fluoroketone, while chemical clean agents like FM-200™ and ECARO-25® are HFCs (HFC-227ea, HFC-125). Novec 1230 fluid has a global warming potential (GWP) of less than one while these HFCs have a GWP of more than 3000. Novec 1230 fluid has the highest margin of safety for human occupancy among clean agents, including inert gas.

FM-200 Fire Suppression Systems

Kidde Fenwal FM-200 fire suppression systems an environmentally-friendly, Halon 1301 replacement agent, which offers the most versatile clean agent suppression capabilities available for facilities that cannot afford fire-related business interruptions. Safe for occupied spaces, (non-toxic when used in accordance with NFPA Standard 2001) FM-200 leaves no residue on Class A, B, and C fires. FM-200 systems provide maximum protection with minimum hardware, require minimal space, and are extremely cost effective. FM-200 systems are UL/ULC listed and FM approved.

IND™ Dry Chemical System

The Kidde® IND Dry Chemical System provides 24-hour fire protection for a wide variety of industrial processes, equipment, machinery and paint spray booth applications.

The Kidde IND Dry Chemical system offers the choice of two dry chemical agents effective on Class A, B and C fires. It is available in two basic configurations: as a local application system or a total flood system. A local application system is designed to protect a specific piece of equipment, while a total flood system is recommended for protection of enclosed rooms or spaces. In addition to the configurations, the Kidde IND System also offers options for detection and control to create a system that will be ideal for your application.

Kidde® Argonite™ Fire Suppression System

The Kidde® Argonite™ fire suppression system uses a blend of inert gases that offers effective fire protection with zero environmental impact.

Argonite is a simple blend of 50% Argon gas and 50% Nitrogen gas with a density similar to that of air.  Both Argon and Nitrogen are clean, naturally occurring gases that are readily available throughout the world.  The system has no direct global warming or ozone depletion potential. Argonite requires minimal post-fire cleanup and will not decompose or produce any by-products when exposed to a flame from a fire situation.

The Kidde® Argonite™ system is an engineered system for total flooding of an enclosed space. It extinguishes a fire by means of reducing the oxygen content within a room to the point at which fire can no longer burn, but without compromising the safety of individuals present.

Argonite is safe and effective for use on many applications.  It is well suited for leaky enclosures such as flight simulators, substations, and control rooms and for application with multiple hazards.
