Class 2 Sound Level Meter, also known as Type 2 Sound Level Meter, is a professional noise level meter designed to meet the requirements of the IEC 61672-1:2013 standard for precision and accuracy. The specifications for Class 2 and Class 1 sound level meters share similar design goals, primarily differing in their acceptance limits and operational temperature ranges. The acceptance limits for a Class 2 Sound Level Meter are generally equal to or greater than those of a Class 1 meter, depending on frequency. The accuracy of a Class 2 Sound Level Meter is specified by IEC within a range of 20 Hz to 8 kHz, and a temperature range from 0 to 40°C.
